Ryan Reynolds has become unstuck in time in ‘The Adam Project’ teaser

Hot off of their surprisingly mega-successful collaboration in Free Guy, Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds are back with another original-concept sci-fi film titled The Adam Project, which is a time travel flick that’s sort of like if you took the radios out of Frequency. Get ready for warm fuzzies about learning to love your younger self and seeing your dad one last time in a few weeks, because this one’s probably going to be huge for Netflix. Speaking of them, the streamer dropped a brand-new teaser for the film earlier on Thursday, and you’ll probably want to check it out before every single person in your friend group watches it and demands that you do too.

Take a look:

One thing we kind of like about how Netflix approaches their publicity materials is how concise and short their synopses are. Why? Well, because it’s somewhat easy to imagine reading this as a verbatim elevator pitch made to an executive in a Hollywood bathroom by a low-level intern. Here, follow along with us:

Intern: Uh, nice weather out there today, huh?

Executive: Yeah, well, we live in California, so… when isn’t it going to be perfect?

[silence]

Intern: Uh, uhm, well, sir, I’m a huge fan of Netflix Original Content-

Executive: You work here, don’t you? Why wouldn’t you?

Intern: Haaaaaaah, yeah. But, uh, I’ve got an idea that I think might be a winner.

Executive: Oh, goddamn it. Here, alright, you seem like a nice kid. I’ll give you fifteen seconds, and I’m starting my watch… now.

Intern: Uh, uh, here goes nothing. “A time-traveling pilot teams up with his younger self and his late father to come to terms with his past while saving the future.”

Executive: Son, I think this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Anyway, The Adam Project hits Netflix on March 11. That’s really not too far away, so maybe you don’t need to time travel in order to check it out. But you do you, honestly: Just stop in 1985 and pick us up some New Coke, huh?
