Scandroid installs synthwave flair into ‘Hark! The Herald Angels Sing’

Via FiXT

We’re very much in the holiday spirit here at Vanyaland, and today (December 6) we kick off the week by connecting our pink lights across the country from here to Detroit to Los Angeles, where Scandroid has installed the synthwave treatment into the Christmas classic “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.”

The reboot boasts classic synthwave flair from Scandroid’s own Klayton, who manages to combine the classic’s seasonally festive DNA — which the internet tells us first appeared in John Wesley’s 1739 collection Hymns and Sacred Poems — with his future-modern vision of electronic music. It’s an epic turn that should get your grandmother up dancing under the tree on Christmas Eve regardless of eggnog intake.

It also marks Scandroid’s very first holiday cover track.

“Christmas is a very important and sentimental holiday for me, and for that reason, the idea of covering Christmas songs has been on my to-do list for a number of years,” says Klayton. “As I contemplated over my list of potential covers, ‘Hark! The Herald Angels Sing’ jumped out as a great fit for a Scandroid cover. I hope you enjoy the song and have a happy holiday season!”
