Little Thief take us to the alley of the dolls on ‘Under the Patio’

Via Memphia Music

We’re sure this has been written, spoken, or tweeted before (probably tweeted), but the existence of Big Thief implies the existence of Little Thief. And this week we’re shaken awake by the latter with the Bristol duo’s wild new video for “Under the Patio.”

The creepy clip combines homemade snuff footage with doll figure reenactment, shot and edited by Jamie Panton, with artwork by David Keeping. The mixed-media video was inspired by the subject matter behind the driving alt-rock track.

“The first verse was written a few months previous about a beautiful relationship between a couple of our friends who were stunningly explosive and never seemed to see a boring day,” says Little Thief lyricist, vocalist, and guitarist Charlie Fitzgerald. “The rest actually came from having to watch a real court case about a guy who had killed his step-dad, cut him up, and hid him in boxes under his T.V. It was pretty fucking creepy.”

Explosive in its own right, “Under the Patio” is the second single and title track from Little Thief’s debut album, which dropped back in September. Pull up the floorboards and watch the video with the lights off below.
