Editor’s Note: Lucy Dacus is on a winning streak. The Virginia-born singer-songwriter had a banner 2018, teaming up with Phoebe Bridgers and Julian Baker for the boygenius LP and releasing her own acclaimed solo record, Historian. This year, Dacus took a slightly different approach to releasing music, unveiling a year-long series of holiday singles under the 2019 banner that tackled everything from Valentine’s Day to Bruce Springsteen’s birthday. Her most recent output, the New Year’s Eve-themed “Fool’s Gold,” arrived just as she played a sold-out Royale in Boston last night (December 4).
