Sometimes, you just want to cover yourself in sludge and drag your broken angel wings all over town with pyrotechnics fully ablaze; other times, a simple white backdrop and a couple of cigarette burns say it all.
Billie Eilish continued her reign of modern pop music this afternoon (December 5) with the release of her new self-directed video “xanny,” an anti-substance abuse anthem. Compared to her other recent visuals, “bad guy” and “all the good girls go to hell,” this music vid is stylistically tame, but don’t let its neutral tones fool you — this is a prime example of Eilish at her most poetically powerful.
