The Airborne Toxic Event unveil first tour in five years

Earlier this year there was some sudden movement in the long dormant camp of The Airborne Toxic Event. Some of it was good (the unveiling of a handful of live dates around New York City and their native Los Angeles) and some of it was not-so-good (notably the departure of violinist and founding member Anna Bulbrook). But that movement has lead to some interesting news for 2020, as The Airborne Toxic Event have detailed their first tour in five years, built around a new album and book penned by frontman Mikel Jollett.

“We’ve been telling you for a while that something big is coming so here it is: I’ve written a book, a memoir about my life, and we’ve made an hour-long concept record, which is the soundtrack to that book,” says Jollett. “Both are coming out in the same week next year, the book on May 5 and the record on May 8. Both the book and the record are called Hollywood Park.

The band’s Hollywood Park Tour kicks off May 27 and The Van Buren in Phoenix, and along its way around the country and back arrives at Boston’s House of Blues on June 12. Pre-sale begins this Wednesday (November 20) at 10 a.m. local time, and the public on-sale starts on Friday.
