The Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer ‘Hella Mega’ tour will play Fenway Park

Finally, we have an answer to the reason behind those mysterious Green Day + Fall Out Boy + Weezer flyers that were passed out at the Palladium last week. The three monstrous rock bands are teaming up next year for their joint Hella Mega Tour, and the chaos comes through Boston on August 27 at Fenway Park.

The official tour announcement was made today (September 10) via anAnchorman-inspired video on YouTube, but Billie Joe Armstrong started to spill the news on the Instagram page @HellaMegaTour yesterday, posting a video of him playing “Wake Me Up When September Ends” while wearing a shirt with the Weezer logo and “F.O.B.” written across the chest.

The page was made private shortly after the video was posted, but copies of the vid still made the rounds online.

Tre Cool fueled the fire yesterday as well when he posted a photo to Instagram of a guitar in a trash can with Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Weezer, and the Hella Mega Tour account tagged.

Tickets for the Fenway show go on sale next Friday (September 20) at 10 a.m. through the Red Sox website. Check out the full list of dates in the promo vid below.
