The 2019 MTV Video Music Awards went down last night (August 26) at the Prudential Center in Newark, and outside of a few select moments, we’re not sure future generations will look back on the party with any real historical importance. One of those exceptions was Lizzo performing “Truth Hurts” and “Good As Hell” live in front of a giant booty. We’ve long worshipped at the altar of Lizzo — read our 2017 interview with her here — and are already counting down the days until she returns to Boston for a September 17 swing at Agganis Arena.
