One of our more anticipated releases of the coming fall season is the new album from Temples. The British psych-rock band are set to release their third LP Hot Motion on September 27 via ATO Records, and we’ve already lit up plenty of long bones to its soaring title track. This week Temples return with another cut, titled “You’re Either On Something”, and it continues the group’s recent efforts of infusing throwback pop sensibilities into their cosmic swagger.
“I’m really proud of ‘You’re Either On Something’ lyrically because I feel deeply connected with the words – they’re so truthful,” says Temples singer James Bagshaw. “On that track, I can hear influences of stuff that I listened to when I was growing up. There’s almost a nostalgia to that track, even though it’s very forward-looking.”
We’re not only looking forward to Hot Motion, but also Temples’ fall North American tour, which brings them to Cambridge’s The Sinclair on November 9. Their stateside run begins roughly a month earlier with an appearance at California’s Desert Daze Festival over the weekend of October 10 to 13.
