Photo Gallery: Rooney live at The Red Room at Cafe 939 in Boston

Editor's Note: It's always great to have Robert Schwartzman back in Boston. Last night (June 12), the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist behind the Los Angeles alt-indie band Rooney brought his project back to town for an intimate and acoustic show at The Red Room at Cafe 939. The night celebrated 20 years of Rooney, from their early days of power-pop under major label support to a recent rebirth as independent artists through Schwartzman’s own label, Beachwood Park Music. The latest stop on the “Break The Wall Tour”, Schwartzman turned the evening into a storyteller's affair, explaining each song for an attentive and involved audience, utilizing everything from his acoustic guitar to some well-received egg-shakers that were passed around the crowd. Vanyaland's María Alejandra Mata was on Boylston Street to capture some images from the show, and you can scan through her full gallery below.
