If you're a Boston-based cinephile, this is undoubtedly one of the most exciting times of the year for you, as the Independent Film Festival Boston has returned with one of their strongest line-ups ever. Running from April 24 through May 1 at the Brattle, Somerville and Coolidge Corner Theatres, there's so many great movies showing at this year's festival that we've had to split our preview up into three parts. We published our first preview on Tuesday, covering the first few days of the festival's line-up, and our second preview on Wednesday, covering the weekend offerings. Finally, here are some choice cuts from the last three days of the festival's programming. Tickets and more information are available at the IFFBoston website.

Official Secrets

Monday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Somerville Theatre

Fresh off of its Sundance premiere, Tsotsi director Gavin Hood returns with this true story about whistleblowing and the courage that it requires in order to do so. Keira Knightley plays Katharine Gun, a British Intelligence officer who discovers an astonishing espionage plot by the US and UK governments in the lead-up to the Iraq War in 2003. Gun decides to blow the whistle, with the help of a sympathetic journalist, and is soon charged by her government with violating the Official Secrets Act once its revealed that she leaked the incriminating documents. This is definitely for those who enjoy their thrillers political and paranoid, and should not be missed by political junkies of all stripes.
