A few years back Ride returned with a blissful blast of seasoned noise in the shape of Weather Diaries, the British shoegaze band’s first album in more than two decades. Turns out there won’t be that long of a wait for the next LP, as this morning (April 23) Ride detailed This Is Not A Safe Place, the group’s sixth studio album that features a dozen new tracks and is set to arrive August 16. To get us in the mood, Ride have also issued the album’s lead single, a spunky guitar-rock tune called “Future Love”, and it recalls the NYC indie scene of the early 2010s. Andy Bell says it’s “a song about the beginning of a relationship, when everything feels possible.” We’re here for it.
