Editor’s Note: We’re not gonna get too caught up in listing all the great things to come out of Poughkeepsie, New York — but Against The Current is surely near the top of the list. The pop-rock group, who have evolved from a YouTube cover sensation to a dramatic force in pop music, played Brighton Music Hall last night (April 18), showing off September’s Past Lives album (and fan-fucking-tastic summer jam “I Like The Way”, a Vanyaland fave). The trio of vocalist Chrissy Costanza, guitarist Dan Gow, and drummer Will Ferri headlined a bill last night that featured opening sets by Chapel and guccihighwaters, and Vanyaland’s John Hutchings was inside the Allston venue capturing visuals of it all.
