After canceling its 2018 edition, The Rock And Roll Rumble is back in full swing for 2019, spanning shows between April 4 and April 26 to decide upon which Boston band will be crowned the next winner of the city’s oldest “battle of the bands”-type competition.

The annual event, hosted by Boston Emissions with Anngelle Wood, takes place at ONCE Ballroom in Somerville over the course of nine nights. A new wrinkle this year lies in its schedule -- instead of running a week-long preliminary series with shows Sunday to Tuesday and Thursday to Saturday, this year's Rumble prelims take place over consecutive Thursday to Saturday three-night slates. The final goes down Friday, April 26.

The “Class of 2019” includes Set Fire, blindspot, Radio Compass, Lonely Leesa & The Lost Cowboys, Birnam Wood, Skytigers, Corner Soul, The I Want You, Exit 18, Love Love, Justine & The Unclean, As The Sparrow, Motel Black, Fidel, Art Thieves, Phenomenal Sun, Test Meat, Powerslut, This Bliss, Jakals, The Daylilies, Officer, Baabes, and Brix’n Mortar.

While the specific nightly lineups will be revealed soon, “full boat” passes that grant guests admission to all nine nights of the Rumble are priced at $80 and are currently on sale.

And since there was no '18 Rumble, the priors year's winner, Carissa Johnson, remains the reigning Rumble champion. Photo up top is from Johnson's crowning, by Scott Murry for Vanyaland.

Listen to each of the participating bands below, in order as listed on the official Rumble flyer.
