Two things help make Phoenix the place to be in early March: Spring Training, and the fact that it’s like 50 degrees warmer than the rest of the country. Huge crowds come from miles away flock to the valley to enjoy both, and now they have Innings Festival to look forward to as well. The baseball-themed festival debuted last year, and had massive success with a stellar lineup. This year, the fest stepped down to two days and two stages (from the previous three days and three stages), and held court at Tempe Beach Park & Arts Park over the weekend (March 2 and 3). This year's music lineup included Eddie Vedder, Incubus, Grouplove, Sheryl Crow, Guster, Cake, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Liz Phair, Mat Kearney, Band of Horses, Dorothy, and local superstars Jimmy Eat World. Innings was also able to recruit more baseball legends, including recent Canadian Hall of Fame inductee Ryan Dempster. While Innings may still be finding their footing in the Phoenix community, it’s clear that this year’s lineup was loved by all who attended. Check out our full gallery of the live music action below.
