Belle and Sebastian get out of the office and into the summer tour

The Scottish indie-pop luminaries have announced a short eight-show run that comes to Boston in July. Fun!

Belle and Sebastian once famously told us to “get out of the office and into the springtime.” Well this year they want us to get out into the summer, as well. The Scottish indie luminaries have announced a short eight-show summer tour around our part of North America, and the jaunt includes a July 13 twirl around Boston’s House of Blues. The shows include support from Ex Hex and Men I Trust, and we’ll get the former here in town. About a year ago, Stuart Murdoch and company released a trio of EPs called How to Solve Our Human Problems, and they’re reportedly busy scoring the film adaptation of Joff Winterhart’s graphic novel Days of the Bagnold Summer. After this Stateside tour wraps, Belle and Sebastian set sail on their Boaty Weekender festival cruise out of Barcelona, with bands like Alvvays, Teenage Fanclub, Mogwai, Hinds, Japanese Breakfast, and others. That sounds fun!
