Whether it wants to be recognized as such or not, it’s pretty much time to start putting Vermont’s Waking Windows festival on the level of all the other major music fests out there. The independent, multi-venue, city-wide spring showcase of music, art, comedy, food, and drink returns to Winooski for three days this May 3 to 5, and today we have the “initial lineup.”
Spoiler alert: It rules.
Taking part in Waking Windows’ 2019 Winooski edition (there’s an annual fall fest in Portland, Maine) are Tune-Yards, Twin Peaks, KNOWER, Caroline Rose, Sunflower Bean, The Mattson 2, Combo Chimbita, Michael Nau, The Shacks, Barika, Rough Francis, Paper Castles, Bernice, Weakened Friends, Jaunt, Adult Mom, Boston Cream, and a bunch more. Hell, just look at the poster below.
Weekend passes are on sale now for $70, and single-day passes may go on sale in the coming weeks. Our advice? Just get the damned weekend pass and experience the festival for all it has to offer.
