Mesa's Club Red recently hosted a bit of a Warped Tour reunion for Arizona locals on Sunday (January 20). With As It Is and Sharptooth inviting local band Doll Skin to open the show, half the bill of the Great Depression Tour stop the other night played the touring festival last summer. Also included in the packed lineup were Phoenix locals Victory Tonight, Philly-based Hold Close, and Los Angeles' Point North. With six bands on the show, it’s no surprise that a whole spectrum of genres was represented. From shoegaze to hardcore, the show was a bit of a sampler platter, ending with the English phenomenon known as As It Is. The formerly four-piece added guitarist Ronnie Ish as a permanent member of the band just a few days prior to the show with the premiere of their music video for “The Fire, The Dark.” The Great Depression Tour carries on throughout the United States until late next month (it hits Cambridge's Middle East on February 10), before hopping over to the UK and continuing in Europe until mid-April.
