NOFX’s fifth studio album Punk in Drublic turns 25 in April. And chances are, when it was released back in ’94, when we all spent our high school days listening to “The Brews” on our Walkman, we never would have guessed the California punk band would be a clue on Jeopardy!.
But hey that’s what happened on the quiz show’s inaugural 2019 episode, when NOFX and Black Flag were cited as examples of bands covered by music zine Razorcake.
The clue, for $1,000, was: “Razorcake is devoted to ‘non-profit’ this angry type of rock cranked out by NOFX and Black Flag.”
The answer, which no one on the panel seemed to know, either despite or because of its clunky wording, was “punk rock.”
And even NOFX’s El Hefe was particularly amused.
