Fresh off a headlining tour in Japan, Authority Zero celebrated the release of their newest LP, Persona Non Grata, where it seemed most appropriate: At home. The globally-recognized quartet hails from Mesa, Arizona, so they brought some local talent to Tempe's Marquee Theatre on Saturday night (December 8). First up was Torn at the Seam, fusing rock with brass elements; followed by Nomada, who brought a Latin flair to their ska. Next up was local favorite Madd Dog Tannen, who, along with Good Boy Daisy, invited Captain Squeegee’s Danny Torgerson on stage as a guest trumpeter. Good Boy Daisy, made up of members almost exclusively still in high school, prove time and time again to be one of the most promising young acts in the Phoenix scene. The packed lineup ultimately resulted in a packed house, illustrating once again that when it comes to concerts, the valley has no off-season.
