Studio 52 Spotlight: Petty Morals
What Studio 52 Says: Petty Morals embody the power-pop wave of the ’80s in their music and on stage. Their EP F*ck You, Let’s Party, released last fall, opens with their tribute to The Cars on the first track “Let’s Go” and sets the party in motion for the rest of the album. It’s difficult not to dance along to the six-track new-wave powerhouse — their new spin on beloved music from decades past infuses a unique atmosphere into Boston rock and roll. Petty Morals’ live shows are as fun as can be, with every member (led by duel vocalists Tai Heatley and Jess Collins) bopping around on stage to the beat and getting their audiences twisting along. Recognized for their feats by their peers during the Boston Music Awards and Rock And Roll Rumble, Petty Morals have definitively stamped their name in the annals of Boston rock. Catch Petty Morals during this year’s Salem Horror Fest tonight (October 12) at Opus Underground with Sugar Blood Jinx and Featured Band alum Diablogato!— Andrew Maroney, Studio 52
