When we see the name LÉON in print, we can’t help but think of Jean Reno’s character in 1994 film The Professional. The LÉON from Sweden, who today unveils her emphatic track “Baby Don’t Talk,” is a different kind of professional, however, one that specialized in brazen, emotive alt-pop that aims for the stars without ever losing her footing. This melodic banger is stuffed with ambition, suggesting promising things from her forthcoming 2019 debut album (LÉON Recordings/BMG), and LÉON says it’s all about letting a good thing ride with less talk talk and more action action. “In the studio, I was talking shit about how sometimes when you’re in a relationship for a while, you don’t want the person to talk and kill the vibe,” LÉON says. “It’s like, ‘Let’s just have a good time.’” What a professional.
