We’re on the better side of Labor Day, so we’re no longer taking applications for Song of the Summer consideration. And that’s a damn shame, because Silk City, the collaborative project between Diplo and Mark Ronson, just teamed up with Dua Lipa for one smooth motherfucking joint in “Electricity.” With a nod to Chicago house, the track is an all-night throbber fit for dancing under a July sunrise, made complete by lyric and melody contributions from Romy Madley-Croft of The xx. In the Bradley&Pablo-directed video, Dua Lipa makes the best of a bad situation, inspired by the New York City blackout of 2003 (we guess). Silk City throw down the live beats October 13 at Treasure Island Festival in Oakland, California.
