This Labor Day Weekend, things were almost not “Alright [Spaceboy]” for Bat House.

After birthing their self-titled debut record last year, the Boston art rock mongers finished a new EP, Stop Dying, with very few seconds to spare, wrapping up the weirdness Sunday night and dropping the six tracks come Monday (September 3). The rush doesn’t seep through the solid post-rock, though; the group flexes their typical thoughtfulness throughout the EP, especially on the languid psychedelica of “Endless Stair.”

“This EP just barely came together for us but we could not be more proud,” the group shares. “We recorded Stop Dying during an intense transitional period as a unit, and feel the songs ultimately reflect the the emotional spaces we have occupied, not before or after, but throughout these changes and metamorphoses. This release is certainly a stamp in time for us as a band.”

Celebrate the new release on Friday (September 7) at Bat House’s Great Scott gig with Ava Luna and Edge Petal Burn, and take in the six new tunes below.
