We’re suckers for many things here at the V, but few things get us worked up more than some well placed “la’s” in a pitch-perfect pop song. Irish band Kodaline are the la-la-la-latest to jump into this fray, offering up infectious new single “Head Held High” to put some positive mandolin-pop shine on our late-summer Tuesday. The bubbly single will be featured on Kodaline’s forthcoming album Politics Of Living, which hits September 28 on Sony Music and serves as the awaited follow-up to 2015 record Coming Up For Air. The feel-good video, directed by James Fitzgerald, shows a worn-out school cafeteria worker auditioning for a class musical and realizing her dream of performing. We all need a little bit of this right now, and the feeling should extend through to this winter — Kodaline play The Paradise Rock Club on December 6.
