There are a lot of bands in Boston, but very few with the tenacity of Big Time Kill. The homegrown electro-industrial project from Adam Schneider and Ben Caccia return with late-summer lightning today in the musical form of “Body Talk”, the new single off forthcoming October 2 album Shock and Awe. Like most Big Time Kill joints, this one’s another uncompromising and confrontational ripper that adds a punk bite to a deep wall of noise, a synth-fueled joyride through one’s own uncertain sense of self. “‘Body Talk’ is kind of an anthemic ode to the existential crisis,” Big Time Kill tell us. “Behind the neurotic upbeat drums and broken guitar lines are lyrics influenced by uncertainty and binge watching too much Twin Peaks. One of the major themes in our new album’s songwriting is juxtaposition, and for this track I really wanted instrumentation that felt powerful and driving paired with vocals that were more abstract and occluded.” Get into it below.
