Bob Moses are in no position to ‘Back Down’ any time soon

By now you know the deal: Bob Moses isn’t a dude, they’re a duo. And neither dude is named Bob or Moses.

Though now they call Los Angeles home, the Vancouver-bred pair of Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance are the Canadian city’s finest duo since the Sedin twins, and are set to release sophomore album Battle Lines on September 14 on Domino. Relative to our interests are two main points: Bob Moses recently dropped a new track, a slick electronic-pop bop called “Back Down”, and their fall North American tour lands them at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston on October 9.

But all momentum swings to the release of Battle Lines, because we’re relating to the vibes the LP is emitting. “This record is about the battles and struggles we all live through,” the duo state in a press release. “Battles within ourselves, battles with and within our society, battles between each other, with our loved ones, battles between ideologies. It’s also about struggling to identify where those battles lines start and end, and what within us and within our environments cause these struggles, and ultimately cause our suffering. It’s also about the struggle to reconcile with those things, somehow.”

The world’s a crazy place, and there’s a lot going on. Take a stance of never backing down via “Back Down” below, and check all the Bob Moses live dates after the jump.
