Embrace — the world will be getting a new Cat Power album this fall.
Chan Marshall this morning unveiled details on Wanderer, her new LP that hits October 5 via Domino. The album was produced entirely by Marshall, was written and recorded in Miami and Los Angeles, and includes an appearance by Lana Del Rey. Marshall dropped a trailer for the Wanderer alongside all this news, and you can watch it below.
“The course my life has taken in this journey — going from town to town, with my guitar, telling my tale; with reverence to the people who did this generations before me,” Marshall says. “Folk singers, blues singers, and everything in between. They were all wanderers, and I am lucky to be among them.”
In addition to the record, Marshall is hitting the road under the Cat Power moniker, touring Europe and North America this fall. Included in the healthy batch of dates is an October 5 appearance at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston. Some info from the source: “Tickets will be on sale via the Cat Power website on Friday July 20 at 10 a.m. local, with the exception of South Burlington, VT, which will go on sale at [noon].”
