When Christine and the Queens tell us something matters, we’re all ears. When the French pop project led by Héloïse Letissier informs us that something “Doesn’t Matter”, we listen even more intently. Today (July 6), Christine and the Queens further set the tone for September’s Chris (one of the most anticipated records of the year) with a delectable pop thump called “Doesn’t Matter.” The vibrations should last long past the album’s release date — and so should its message. “It’s a crisis song that I wrote late one night,” says our queen Christine. “This song is a cathedral, with a rhythm as unalterable as white stone. The bass line, I remember playing it for hours, as if to rock myself.” We rock as well. Featured photo by Jamie Morgan.
