After two years of basking in the glow of their 2016 album Matter, New York’s St. Lucia have introduced the next era of the group with two new tunes that demonstrate both ends of their musical spectrum. Both released last Friday (June 22), the new songs flaunt the outfit’s flexibility: While “A Brighter Love” turns back time ’80s electro-pop style, “Paradise Is Waiting” leans towards gospel. “’Paradise is Waiting’ and ‘A Brighter Love’ couldn’t be more different, but we’re so proud of them both,” the band shared on Facebook. “It was really hard to choose, but we felt like these two best represent the extremes of our new music. ‘Paradise’ might be the most epic thing we’ve ever done, and ‘A Brighter Love’ is probably the most sparse.” UPDATE: St. Lucia play Royale on November 12.
