Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

Editor's Note: Last night (June 13) the Boston music scene came together to honor one of their own. "A celebration of the life and art of Caleb Scofield" was a night of catharsis and community, swelling a very sold-out Royale with the sounds and scene that Scofield called home. The 39-year-old musician died unexpectedly in April, and last night's benefit for his wife Jen and their two small children brought together an extended family, with intense and emotional performances by Scofield's bands Cave In and Old Man Gloom, as well as Converge and The Cancer Conspiracy. Show organizers Bowery Boston stated that “100% of all proceeds [will] be donated to the Scofield family,” and tables of raffles at the venue, donated by various businesses and labels, added to the money raised. For those who could not attend, a YouCaring memorial page for the Scofield family is still active, and a second benefit show, October 13 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, was announced this week. It features Cave In and Old Man Gloom, as well as Pelican and members of Isis reuniting under the name Celestial. Tickets for that go on sale today (10 a.m. Pacific time). Ben Stas was at last night's benefit at Royale, and you can scan through his full gallery below.
