Editor's Note: One of the immediate highlights of World Music/CRASHarts' concert calendar this spring was Monsieur Periné's appearance at The Paradise back in April. That show was ultimately postponed until last night (June 12), and the Bogotá-based Afro-Colombian music ensemble certainly made up for any lost time. Touring behind last month's well-received Encanto Tropical LP, Monsieur Periné bring a lively, high-energy show to the stage, led by multi-lingual singer Catalina García and blending everything from Latinx alt-rock to Gypsy jazz to sounds of 1930s Paris. The 'Dise was packed with diversity and in a non-stop frenzy last night, and María Alejandra Mata was in the room on behalf of Vanyaland to capture some visuals of it all.
