Art Pop: Here are the selfie backdrops you need at Boston Calling

Usually the “arts” portion of music and arts festivals gets glazed over, but ever since Boston Calling relocated to the Harvard Athletic Complex last year, the festival crew has been working especially hard to put together visuals to grace your Instagram pages.

On top of the Dr.-Seuss-lookin’ lyric installations around the grounds, here are a couple of the aesthetic treats to check out while you trek between all three stages all weekend.

Ballon installation

Perhaps the most MoMA-worthy piece of the bunch, this area of ballon art in the shape of …molecules? marshmallows? bubbles?… rounds out the edge of the blue stage area. Designed by sculptor and artist Russ Bennett, what exactly this billowing barricade represents is still up for interpretation.
