IKEA is bringing some foreign flair to Boston Calling this year, and somehow it doesn’t involve Swedish meatballs.
Dubbed “a festival within the festival” by the home furnishing company, IKEA has sectioned off its own VIP-type area at Boston Calling this weekend, offering BC attendees live DJing from artists across the pond, free food, and ample opportunities to kick back and recharge in Instagram-worthy hammocks and bunks beds.
Artists on deck to perform this weekend include Cherrie, Jaqe, Sammy & Johnny Bennett (pictured below), DJ Finest, DJ TRANS94, DJ Michel Dida, DJ Robin Kadir, and teenage engineering sound system.
Located near the Harvard tennis courts and festival's Blue Stage, the area will be open all weekend, complete with ping-pong tables and some much-needed shade.
The IKEA Food Lab area has free fresh veggie packs up for grabs, packed with carrots, kale, fennel, and all the other green goodies you’d expect from any given festival vendor. IKEA veggie dogs are also for sale, which will not be available to the public in American IKEA stores until August 2019.
