What Studio 52 Says: Succeeding the release of their third full length album Talk Talk Talk, award-winning act Carissa Johnson And The Cure-Alls have proven that new material isn’t in short supply as they keep releasing more ’70s-style punk and new wave bangers. Songs are caked with soaring vocals and backed by a straight 1/8th-note drive that keeps things jogging; paired with high energy, adrenaline laced live performances, there’s no question as to why they’re now decorated veterans. Carissa Johnson has now won the Limelight Music Award’s Album of the Year award for For Now in 2016, went home a champion at Boston’s Rock And Roll Rumble and won New Act of the Year at the Boston Music Awards in 2017, and won Punk Act of the Year at the Worcester Music Awards this past April. Undoubtedly turning heads and building their fan base around New England, they haven’t been slacking when it comes to laying groundwork elsewhere either, Carissa is actively touring the U.S. and Europe — whether The Cure Alls can make the dates or not.
