Now that they’ve properly conquered Coachella, PVRIS are back with a fine treat before we swan dive into the weekend — a new remix of their 2017 album cut “Same Soul.” The chilled-out remix comes from the world of Marian Hill’s Jeremy Lloyd, and features Seattle singer-songwriter Jaymes Young. “I’ve been listening to Jaymes since we first started touring,” PVRIS’ Lynn Gunn says. “I’d always listen to his EP on long night drives, so to hear him on our track is pretty surreal. I love the new take that he and Jeremy from Marian Hill brought to the track.” Lloyd adds: “The intensity of Lynn’s chorus vocal pushed me to discover a new groove (within my production world at least) for the drop, which is the ideal thing I always want to happen with a remix. By listening to the a cappella and responding to it, I can find myself somewhere new.” PVRIS’ original version of “Same Soul” was included on last year’s excellent LP All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell; they play Port City Music Hall in Portland on May 4.
