Editor's Note: Last Friday (March 9), Iceland's capital city called, and according to the weather around New England today, we clearly answered. The annual Reykjavik Calling concert descended on The Paradise Rock Club in Boston, part of the widespread Taste of Iceland festivities across the city, and this year's edition featured a pair of buzzy Icelandic acts, the ethereal, ambient pop of JFDR (Jófríður Ákadóttir) and hip-hop artist Sturla Atlas, as well as homegrown Massachusetts product Air Traffic Controller. "Thank you Boston, you're so much more than cream... so much more than Red Sox... you're so much," Ákadóttir told the crowd. She also praised her collaborator Áslaug Magnúsdóttir (a counterpart in another project called Samaris) for navigating the MBTA all alone in order to get to the 'Dise from Logan. Scott Murry was at the venue on behalf of Vanyaland to capture images of JFDR and Sturla Atlas (and the rapper's crew), and you can tap through his full gallery below.
