Kitsuné celebrates new clothing line with beats and treats at Good Life

Launching high-fashion clothing lines and hosting rooftop parties are activities that go hand-in-hand in most cities, but when said launch happens in Boston in the dead of winter, it’s best to take things to the basement lounge.

French designer and electronic music label Kitsuné rolled through Boston last Thursday (March 1) as a part of the company’s 10-city tour to launch their recent clothing collaboration with the NBA. Kicking off in the lower level of Good Life on Kingston Street, Kitsuné celebrated the new line with a four-hour “club night,” featuring performances from Chicago’s Thelonious Martin and Boston’s own SuperSmashBrozOG Swaggerdick, and DJ Knife.

Prior to the dance party, Bodega hosted a cocktail party in collaboration with Kitsuné for the official Boston launch of the ready-to-wear unisex capsule collection of b-ball-inspired tees, shirts, and jackets.

Kitsuné also tossed a new music compilation into the fashion-music-sports mix with Kitsuné América 5: The NBA Edition, the fifth playlist curated by the fashion and music label thus far (for those questioning the label’s taste, artists that have previously released music via Kitsuné include La Roux, Classixx, and Chrome Sparks).

While both the clothing line and playlist dropped officially on February 17, the celebration still sprints forward: Other cities on the tour roster included Paris, Toronto, Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta, Brussels, and Chicago, and still to come are parties in Miami (March 6) and Houston (March 13).

Check out the new line here, and the new playlist below (or on vinyl, if you’re so inclined).
