Diet Cig, Great Grandpa, and The Spook School live in Allston

Editor’s Note: Diet Cig released their debut album Swear I’m Good At This nearly a year ago, and the Frenchkiss Records LP still finds a way to reveal itself in different ways. On Friday (March 2), the New York State guitar-punk duo of Alex Luciano and Noah Bowman braved the New England winter elements (strong winds! coastal flooding! tree branches down all over the place!) to bring one of the more anticipated package tours to town in a while, selling out Allston’s Brighton Music Hall with the on-the-road help from Seattle grunge-pop gang Great Grandpa and Scotland’s rally lads The Spook School. It was really one of those lineups we’re likely to be talking about in a few years, especially since Great Grandpa continue to be one of the more intriguing live bands around and now that The Spook School are everyone’s darling with the release of new album Could It Be Different?. It was chaos out on the streets but straight chill in the room, and Ben Stas was in the ‘Hall taking photographic evidence of it all. Scan through his full gallery below.
