Boston has a bit of a love-hate relationship with The Fratellis. Sure the Glaswegian guitar-pop dudes been dropping indie dance party and pub-worthy sing-alongjams since we first head “Flathead” more than a decade ago, but their breakout track “Chelsea Dagger” also became a celebration song of the Chicago Blackhawks and we’re all still pretty sore over the 2013 Stanley Cup Final. We get a chance to even the score this spring when The Fratellis play Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on May 18, and the trio will be armed with a new record in their upcoming fifth studio album, In Your Own Sweet Time, out March 16 via Cooking Vinyl. The latest single off the LP is “Starcrossed Losers”, which Jon Fratelli tells Billboard “feels like something we’ve been working towards without realizing, it’s a mixture of shimmer, tale-telling, light and shade.” Of the video, which you can watch below, director Alexander Darby adds: “Filming in reverse was fun but a challenge too with those long takes, we really had to map everything out carefully and on a couple of shots, did way more rehearsals than we did takes!” Featured photo by Nicky J Sims.
