Studio 52 Spotlight: I Was Awake
What Studio 52 Says:
Progressive alternative rock group I Was Awake are one of the North Shore’s most refined acts, and continue to supply the local scene with energetic and powerful live shows on a regular basis. These guys have an epic songwriting style best described by Benjamin Franklin’s famous quote, “a place for everything, everything in its place,” as each single note in each single song is calculated, perfectly placed, and intentionally played. Drum beats fall flawlessly in line with riffs, creating an exemplary pallet for the exquisite and graceful vocal lines that are destined to get stuck in your head. Their first full length album Facade was released in 2016 and remains their magnum opus; assured to carry you through a whirlwind of emotions and keep you engrossed the whole time, no skip tracks. I Was Awake shake up Koto in Salem tonight (December 29) alongside Protean Collective and Blind Revision; this show is a must attend for prog rock/alt/metal fans. — Trevor McSweeney, Studio 52
