We here in Boston have had a front-row seat in watching New York rock band grow and evolve into one of the most important bands of our time, from their early days playing small Cambridge rock clubs to headlining the first-ever Boston Calling Music Festival, a modern New England staple co-curated by guitarist Aaron Dessner. Last night (October 5), The National were again in commanding action, captivating the Wang Theatre at the Boch Center in support of last month's Sleep Well Beast. Ben Stas was in the historic Theatre District venue to get up close and personal with Matt Behringer and the boys, who returned the favor by getting up close and personal with Boston.
