A terrifying batch of reports have emerged Thursday morning (October 5) stating that the Las Vegas gunman who killed 59 and wounded hundreds of others at Route 91 Harvest in Las Vegas may have been plotting other acts of terror.
Stereogum rounds up reports from TMZ and Variety stating that the Vegas shooter booked hotel rooms overlooking Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival in August and another Las Vegas music festival, last month’s Life Is Beautiful. It’s also possible the shooter may have “scouted” a location in Boston, according to NBC.
The shooter’s room in Chicago was at Blackstone Hotel, located alongside Grant Park.
Though the shooter requested “view rooms” with a clear line of site on the festival grounds, he reportedly never checked in. The Chicago Tribune reports that local police are currently investigating.
TMZ even has a POV from the allegedly booked room at the Blackstone.

Variety’s report states the shooter booked “multiple condos” at the Ogden, which was within sight of the September 22 through September 25 festival in downtown Vegas. Life Is Beautiful took place the weekend before Route 91 Harvest.
The fest was headlined by Chance The Rapper, Lorde, and Wiz Khalifa, and reps for both the fest and the Ogden have declined comment.
