Photo Gallery: The Afghan Whigs and Har Mar Superstar live at the Paradise Rock Club

Photo Gallery: There are few things in music a person can bank on, but The Afghan Whigs are one. Greg Dulli's enduring alt-rock band were back in Boston last night in support of recent album In Spades (out in May via Sub Pop), and the Paradise Rock Club show was another lesson in musical artistry and craft. The night included a touching tribute to both late Hüsker Dü drummer and songwriter Grant Hart and the Whigs' own Dave Rosser, who passed away in May, and a 21-song set that spanned the band's decades of work. After the show, Glenn Di Benedetto of Parlour Bells summed up Dulli best on Instagram, writing: "The Afghan Whigs sum up so much of what matters to me when it comes to making music, growing your audience, and giving them nights you'll never forget. Not once has this incredibly talented man who emerged in the '90s, amid so much bluster and so many anointed icons, not once has he been showered with the accolades he most certainly deserves. Yet so many of those icons are gone or plain washed up now. And here he is, still delighting, still showing us who is the boss. His accolades however are many. He has them #InSpades." Ben Stas was at the 'Dise on behalf of Vanyaland to capture some visuals, and you can scan through his fully gallery of the Whigs and opener Har Mar Superstar below.
