From now until the end of next week, we’ll be shining a spotlight on the seven bands and artists performing live at the first-ever Tremont Takeover, a collaborative effort that aims to further unify the Boston music scene. The Saturday, September 16 all-ages and all-inclusive party at the Wang Theatre Grand Lobby is co-produced by Lysten Boston and the Boch Center, with Vanyaland as the official media sponsor, and is celebrates homegrown music curated by the city’s top tastemakers. The night features:

Meet The Band: “Oompa is a nationally-acclaimed, Boston-born, poet, rapper, and educator, who is always brings something new to live performance and never leaves home without an interactive, engaging set, and a 90s kid aesthetic. Oompa is the winner of the 2017 Women of the World Poetry Slam, and a finalist at the 2017 National Poetry Slam. She has been featured in Huffington Post, Allston Pudding, Mass Apparel, KillerBoomBox, and Dig Boston among others. Oompa’s debut album, Nov. 3, was named one of DigBoston’s Top 30 Local Albums of 2016, one of Allston Pudding’s Favorite albums of 2016, and her sound has been compared to that of Lauryn Hill, J.Cole, and Talib Kweli. As such, she has become a sought-out rapper and poet, touring the college circuit and live music venue circuit.”
