The sun was shining, the Briggs was flowing, and the energy was contagious. In its first-ever showcase this past Saturday (July 29), Briggs Fest not only brought out to Boston's Lawn On D some big names in hip-hop, like Waka Flocka Flame, homegrown product Sammy Adams, and B.o.B., but also showcased several up-and-coming artists with New England roots, such as Khary (Providence), Aziz the Shake (Nashua), and Caye (Boston). Each performer brought a unique vibe to the festival and connected with the audience in their own way: Carter Reeves prancing around the lawn, Waka starting dance parties in the the middle of the crowd, and Adams bringing out Aziz the Shake to perform a song together. A true showcase of the connectivity music can create, especially with tasty libations, Briggs Fest was a hit -- and we're already looking forward to its next iteration.
