What Studio 52 Says: Self-defined as folk-hop, Mad Yonder have found a way to capitalize on folk and indie rock by dressing their sound in vocal melodies that undeniably get stuck in your head, old-school hip-hop vibes, and a rhythm section that pulls everything together naturally and cohesively. Since forming in 2013 with keyboardist/vocalist Timothy Wild and M.C. Keanu Burke at the helm, Mad Yonder have seen some lineup changes, but have always kept their direction clear and defined. Gaining increasing recognition with the release of January EP The Land Between, they’ve found themselves the headliner of a new music showcase, Thunder Thursdays, each month at Thunder Road, one of Somerville’s best spots for live music. Catch them there this Thursday (August 3), and the first Thursday of every month.
