Memphis musician Julien Baker has a busy schedule ahead, playing festival dates from Chicago to Australia and opening for the likes of Belle & Sebastian, Cold War Kids, Paramore, and Ben Folds. But come fall, the Matador Records artist is set to head out on her own fall North American tour, and we can hardly wait.
Baker’s headlining run kicks off October 12 in Atlanta and wraps December 20 in Dallas, but not without a European leg stretched through November and a stop October 28 at the Somerville Theatre in Somerville. Tickets to the local date go on sale Friday (July 21).
It continues a year on the road for Baker, who has toured and/or opened for Ben Gibbard, The Decemberists, and Conor Oberst. The headlining run will also prove to be a showcase of sorts as she previews new material, expected to be part of the follow-up to acclaimed 2015 debut LP Sprained Ankle and 2017 Matador 7-inch “Funeral Pyre.”
