Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.
Over the past month or so, Audiotree has been showing Boston a lot of love. The artist discovery platform and live session series has recorded features with Horse Jumper of Love and Vundabar, and this week goes deep with everyone’s favorite DIY heroes, Pile.
The session runs six songs deep, spotlighting tracks off Pile’s March LP A Hairshirt of Purpose — which we took a deep look at a few weeks back — and you can watch the performances broken up by track or as one unified set.
Here’s word from Audiotree: “Pile has been a powerhouse in the Boston rock scene since their inception in 2008. Originally conceived as a solo project, frontman Rick Maguire brought together the current lineup in 2010. They’re adored for their asymmetrical guitar work, Maguire’s aggressive yet melodic vocal delivery, and pummeling, destructive breakdowns. This inventive toolkit makes listening to Pile a fresh and cathartic experience every time.”
The Boston love doesn’t end here, however. A quick glance at the upcoming Audiotree schedule says Animal Flag are up next, with a session out next Wednesday (June 7).
