Things are weird and we’re all tired from Boston Calling and it’s only Wednesday, but it looks like we’ll be getting new music from Lorde this Friday (June 2).
The New Zealand alt-pop beacon teased the release of… something… by tweeting out a few select lyrics in pink lettering over black material, complete with the release date and a title reference to her upcoming album, Melodrama. The new stuff hits our part of the globe at 2 p.m.
Later that night, Lorde co-headlines the opening night of Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City alongside Chance The Rapper, Flume, and Beach House.

With the Gov Ball gig and Melodrama out June 16, it makes sense for Lorde deliver some new sounds. In March, she returned with SOTY contender “Green Light”, and quickly followed that up with a ballad called “Liability”.
So what will we get? A new single? A video? Tour news? If it’s a new track, then chances are it’ll be one of the songs listed below.
Color us excited.
